The OP and a few in this thread are trying to buy an argument, I’m glad there are no takers.
This is a great feel good phrase, but in a real world, doesn’t really hold any water. We’re a tribalistic species, and your usefulness to other people is directly related to your value as a person within the tribe. Worthless people are tossed to the side.
Also, it’s “Your”.
That fork is useful as art, as commentary, as a quality control device in the fork factory… everyone has many uses even if they aren’t the use society wants you to have.
But just because you are like everyone else doesn’t mean you’re useful 🙃

Your usefulness may not be the one everyone expects. If that fork is pure silver it would be valuable anyways. If it was the only crooked fork on the royal silverware colection it would be even more.
Maybe look past of what others expect from you
