Lol do you really believe the elections in Russia are fair in the slightest?

      He literally assassinated his opponents.

Sure, if you ignore that it’s actually the Ukrainian constitution suspending the elections and also ignore that most opposition MPs have not been banned from anything

The Ukrainian constitution specifically does not permit elections during martial law. He is following the law of the country that was already in place before his administration

Sure, so “following the law” is not a value judgment one way or the other. It depends on whether the law is just. However, the accusation here is that Zelenskyy is a dictator because he banned elections. This is simply untrue; he did not make that decision.

It is not even slightly weird or dictatorial to ban parties that are cooperating with an invading army, and the parties that got banned are not even a majority of the opposition members of the parliament

“Dictators have a done a thing” alone does not make the thing dictatorial, and at no point did I say “dictators never do this, therefore it is not dictatorial”. Are you really trying to argue that acting against literal wartime treason makes someone a dictator? If not, you’re going to need more of an explanation

They will say that the Ukrainian constitution forbids elections under martial law, when in fact this is only for the Verkhovnaya Rada, and not the Presidential post. And besides, it’s not like the constitution told Zelensky he should ban the opposition parties lmfao.

Liberals will spread misinformation like wildfire because their American-propagandized worldview depends on it.

It’s both. Article 11 part 2.3 of this, translated below:

        1. In the event that the term of office of the President of Ukraine expires during martial law, his powers shall be extended until the newly elected President of Ukraine, elected after the abolition of martial law, takes office.

This part was added by the Verkhovna Rada in December 2022, within their original term and also Zelenskyy’s.
