All of the staff involved belong on the no-fly list. Fucking biohazard. That’s gotta be breaking a few laws.
The manager 2 or 3 levels above the staff needs to be taking the heat. The folks who make the decisions and metrics that induce this kind of behavior.
Oh, are we going back to “I was just following orders” being an excuse?
I thought the Nuremberg trials were mostly officers? So the middle managers couldn’t blame the CEO.
I don’t care? The Nuremburg trials aren’t the source of basic morality and ethics. They aren’t even a particularly good example of it, if you’ve actually got any familiarity with what actually happened.
To what were you referring?
For one, the fact that whether someone was tried and convicted was generally not based on guilt, but whether or not they were of use to the allies or not.
Werner Von Braun was probably the most famous example, but there are hundreds of others.
Air Canada is the worst company. Avoid it even if it means extra cost. I’m dead serious they really suck.
What do you even fly if you’re in Canada, then? I’ve heard WestJet took a turn downward a few years back.
Have you tried just being a goose?
Username checks out.
If it’s less than a 20 hour drive I’m not flying
Transat is pretty good but yeah, Air Canada is sometimes the only option.sucks.
Porter has been expanding recently and is excellent
Flair!
I’m not even kidding, I prefer it to the majors. Not for everyone though lol.
Did Flair and it was fine - after Swoop wanted to “rebook” a flight within a week of when it was supposed to leave to like the week after I was supposed to return.
LOL WTF, I would not want to sit there as well, eh. Shame on you, Air Canada
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Air Canada has apologised after kicking two passengers off a flight for refusing to sit in vomit-smeared seats.
Susan Benson, who was on the Las Vegas-Montreal service, said the pilot warned the passengers they would be put on a no-fly list if they kept complaining.
She added that staff had tried to cover “a bit of a foul smell” with perfume and coffee grounds.
“We didn’t know at first what the problem was,” Ms Benson posted on Facebook of the flight late last month.
The passengers were told “they could leave the plane… and organise flights on their own dime, or they would be escorted off by security and placed on a no-fly list!”
Air Canada said it was “reviewing this serious matter” and that “operating procedures were not followed correctly in this instance”.
The original article contains 241 words, the summary contains 134 words. Saved 44%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
Sorry, eh.
“world news”
Oh sorry I forgot Canada was on Mars
Sorry, I forgot people being slightly fucked over by a company was earth-shattering information
Should they just make some shit up like Fox does then?
What? No! Just report shit that is of actual consequence. This stuff is so boring.
It is boring but when their entire company is based on a 24 hour News model they need to push something out every few hours regardless of how slow the news day is. Fox just fills that time with stuff that excites their viewers but has no basis at all in fact.
Eh, Fox is choosy with their facts. They are capable of reporting factual things. The thing is, this is just a big old nothingburger. Write an option piece about Olaf Scholz’s eye patch. Or a day in the life of someone living in Myanmar under the military regime. This world is so full of life and experience, why waste airtime on this?
Fox isn’t news…they don’t report, nor do they care about facts. They are entertainment. Nothing more.
They are capable of reporting factual things.

Apparently it was shattering enough to make you want to click on it.
You know you do have the ability to simply keep scrolling, right?
Yes, I know I shouldnt be so worked up about this.
Air Canada is the main international carrier for Canada.
Reporting on nonsense like this on a slow news day is better than just making shit up like some other 24 hour “News” outlets though.
Nowhere as bad as the Americans having a “politics” lemmy that only allows US politics
On the English-speaking internet, North America = the world.
Neva4get
I think you will find that it only includes half of north America (604,155,369 total population https://worldpopulationreview.com/continents/north-america-population vs the 334,233,854 of the contry you likely mean.)
North America is the term generally used for the US and Canada, where I’m from anyway, so I’m not sure what you mean. I do enjoy all the downvotes from the Americans whose exceptionalism is being offended by my pointing it out though, keep it coming chumps!
Don’t forget Mexico, Greenland, or the entire Caribbean.
