It’s still active
they should have just stayed private imo
Yeah, the mods shut it down. Please don’t fucking say that Reddit did that shit where they replace the mods with random people on 196…
they didn’t goblinhog is just a loser I’ve always hated them but then they went and pulled this waited for everyone to leave then did a poll on reopening so basically everyone participating were the people too lazy to leave reddit so they’d guarantee a reopen absolute scumbag they should’ve never been made a mod but everyone begged for it just cause they were desperate enough for attention to comment on basically every post 196 is nowhere near big enough for reddit to care about it also it’s very gay which a lot of advertisers and social media sites deem not advertiser friendly so they’d happily see 196 dead
part of me doesn’t went to hate them ngl because they were getting shit on extremely hard for keeping it private, but I also do agree, “we” shouldn’t be supporting reddit like that
Wow wait goblinhog wasn’t the head mod of 196? Never paid much attention, but with how much everyone talked about them, I had assumed so.
they were but they weren’t at the very start at the very beginning they were just a “microcelebrity” on 196 then became a mod then head mod a lot of the worst decisions were when they became head mod I think
Yeah, about the last part, I just recently found out that r/lgballt, which was a really cool subreddit where people posted comics in countryball style, but with LGBT+ flags instead, has been tagged as NSFW(!!!) when it’s one the most inoffensive subreddits in the entire platform.
still here, still queer. wishing other 196ers weren’t so lazy to leave behind corporate social
It was evident from the start, since only a small amount of people are hellbent on using 3rd party apps freely. Don’t be disappointed because atleast some percentage of people left atleast.
The Lemmy learning curve is too steep. Even if all those users switched over a single malicious actor can take down an entire Lemmy instance.
Honestly I kind of prefer it to have a learning curve. I hate to sound like a hipster but Reddit went to shit as soon as it became ultra-mainstream when covid hit
Wrong
It’s happened several times to the shitposting instance and mods are complaining about a lack of tools.
Source: I saw it in a dream
Yeah, I love Lemmy so far but there have been some issues that I know normal social media users would not be willing to learn.
Looks like the content there isn’t as good as it was tho
It’s all here now
