Google Messages is will soon add a new Noise Cancelation feature to make voice messages sound clearer by reducing ambient noise.

You can always switch off RCS and fall back to SMS. There are a few media features you can use through MMS, but MMS support is being turned off I a whole bunch of countries, so SMS should be the most basic thing possible.

Unfortunately, SMS doesn’t do group chat.
