Tim Dorsey, a former police and courts newspaper reporter-turned novelist, has died at age 62. Dorsey found lasting fame as the creator of the crime-comedy novel series starring Serge A.
He was great. The Serge A. Storm series is pretty twisted in the funniest ways possible without feeling overly dark. Although full disclosure, I’ve only read the first 9 novels in the series but back around 2007 that was all of them.
To be honest I hadn’t thought about Tim Dorsey in years and had no idea he continued adding to the series as recently as this past February but there’s apparently 26 books total now! So I can only recommend the first nine but wouldn’t be surprised if they’re all great.
If you give it a shot I’d suggest looking up the chronological order on Wikipedia because the first five novels jump around in the timeline and it can be a little confusing.
