When I’m in an easily debunkable claims competition and my opponent is:

LGBTQ+ lives have only ever improved under liberalism

This looks too ridiculous to be serious, its got to be satire, surely. Like everything else I can maybe think someone may believe but “More trans fighter pilots” is literally an anti-imperialist joke.

The first two games are absolute classics and New Vegas is one of the best games of any genre.

People who quote 3 definitely need education though.

They may be, but nonetheless, people who quote any video games, TV series or other forms of mass entertainment as a display of their political leanings are people who it is better to simply disregard.

I see your point, but to FNV’s credit, it absolutely dunks on people who have a superficial understanding of philosophy/history/politics such as the person in question here

It is not about the game itself. There are video games out there I too find to have pretty decent political messages, but I would still not think the best of someone if the only way they were able to explain their political leanings was by using that one video game as an example.

It is a simple rule of thumb to make a general distinction of the type of people who have a solid political education and those who don’t, akin to liberals who use Harry Potter as a way to explain their politics.

I’d also rather they quote from prominent authors and through books, but the same also could’ve been said about Books back in the day, given that it was also a form of “mass entertainment” before the arrival of TV Serieses and Video Games.

With books I think one can be somewhat more lenient, since I have found it more uncommon to see them used as a substitute for one’s political education. Although, of course, that depends on the book in question. George Orwell? No thanks, have a nice day.

You have not yet reached chronic bensaphirosis unless you begin any of your arguments with “Let’s say, hypothetically, for the sake of the argument…”.
