I went to a Nugent concert once (Blue Oyster Cult was opening and the person I went with wanted to stay for him) and he straight up had a political rally in the middle of it. Like, actually brought a local Republican candidate on stage to give a speech. And now they say changing a single line of a song is out of line. Go fuck yourselves.
And let’s remember that it was already a political song. It’s not like they added a political statement in the middle of The Sound Of Music.
They didn’t even change the meaning of the song. They changed one lyric and the message remained the same. “Redneck” and “maga” are practically synonymous.
Apart from those lefty rednecks. They’re cool guys with their flannel shirts and fab facial furniture (handlebar moustaches).
