You’re attributing far more to Google than I think we can reasonably prove their involved in. Never attribute to malice what could be attributed to incompetence.

Google is more than aware that outrage makes money. It’s a bit like saying I work a day job baking cookies and do contract killing on the side, so I’m not as bad as the guy who does contract killing fulltime. While it is objectively better why bother defending it?
