Making myself throw out all my pc part boxes, I don’t why my lizard brain is so obsessed with keeping them all. Have also organised all my little screws, cables, and whatnots into labelled parts tubs.

Maybe this a QLD school thing but does anyone remember having to learn to dance in high school? Like you’d learn the waltz and one other dance (mine was the cha cha) and then to pass you had to dance with the sports teacher (male teacher for the girls, female sport teacher for the boys).

Friend of mine just gave me a wild flashback to that part of my schooling, and adult me is thinking how fkn wild it was you had to get handsy with a teacher for a few minutes in the name of education.

It was a mandatory part of year 8/9 Phys Ed (usually somewhere in semester 1), you couldn’t attend the mid-year school dance if you didn’t pass.

Yep. Only I went to a girls only boarding school, so we had to practice with mops/brooms in lieu of real meat boys. It was an hour of practice after classes twice a week in year 11. Dances were waltz, foxtrot, cha cha and some old time folk dances like the Pride of Erin, Dashing White Sergeant and Waves of Bondi. The idea was to be able to do the ‘social’ dancing of our grandmothers’ generation. Rock&roll and disco were off the menu.

On a train. There is an over abundance of short shiny dresses and facial glitter. Must be a Spice Girl around somewhere.

I have decided to try cutting out caffeine for a while. I’ve been reducing my intake for a couple of weeks, with the intention that after today I will not have any more. The temptation to have another coffee is very real.

    Rightio.
Shopping is done. House is clean from top to bottom. Washing is done. Cat is brushed and fed.

Time for some reading in bed, and Mass Effect 3 later on.

I forget how great I feel when the house is spotless. Feels so peaceful.

Hectic week is just over. I’m drop dead tired, will miss having people to check in with. But also glad to be back in my own space and participating in things from a distance rather than being expected to compete with the popular and the pretty. Also I’d be glad not to go into the cbd for a good month or so. I’m so over it

Off to Prahan, just for one thing but it’s like an hour each way. Good thing I remembered my earphones, would have been quite upset otherwise haha

I’ve spent all day inside resting with Puddington Bear. Feeling pretty ordinary and so is she. Both of us are going to the vet this week

So many Taylor Swift fans, the tram was packed as. Wtf. A group of them looked at me and laughed? I’m not in HS anymore, their giggles mean nothing lol

Back from the other side of the city. As soon as I was on Chapel St waiting for tram, some middle aged lady asked me from a ciggie. Every time I’m there, which isn’t often, I get asked for a smoke without fail.

Every street and suburb in Melbourne has a culture; I love this city.

Ended up making the trip in with my kids to listen from the park. Was worth it (kids thought it was awesome) - I’d say probably 15k people outside…

And this guy - just grooving from the back
