car manufacturers, insurance companies and bad drivers are creating the problem. cant parallel park? don’t worry the car can do it. cant stay in your lane? car can do it. Cant maintain speed? car can do it…some conveniences like cruise control are fine, but this gap between personal responsibility and a vehicle is insane. the adage is true. you want to commit murder? do it with a vehicle.
I turned off the “lane assist” in our Mazda because it kept steering me back toward obstacles I was trying to avoid, like cyclists, oversized loads, potholes, etc. I don’t know why anyone thought that was a good idea.
But try buying a car without those features now…sigh.
