You have the ability to vote for whoever you want

Oh, I do now? What are my choices? Which candidate doesn’t fund ICE, imprison refugees, and send arms to a genocidal ethnostate? I’m so relieved to know I have a choice!

Whoever you wanna write in? Unfortunately for your personal beliefs, most Americans are batshit conservatives or moderate to progressive liberals, therefore usually a batshit Republican, and a moderate dem win the primaries, which frequently have more populist candidates as an option. Sanders was in the 2020 primary. I voted for him. He didn’t win, so I voted for Biden in the general.

Maybe I’m wrong, but It feels like you’d have the same complaints you have under this system that you’d have under any democratic system of government.

So you disagree that a vote for a third party is supporting Trump? You disagree with this statement and believe we actually have a choice?

We have a “choice” in the same way the people in Saw have a choice. Aka, we don’t, and this is not a democracy in any stretch of the term.

A third party vote is still supporting Trump if you have a left mindset (and vice versa for conservatives). You CAN vote for whoever you want, that doesn’t make it moral. The purpose of primaries is for the voters within the party to get together and decide the platform and candidate for that party.

Plus, between local and state elections, you have even more say with your vote. You could even run for office locally and have a chance of winning.
