ChatGPT, write me a song about mosses and lichen in the style of Tom Bombadil:

(Verse 1) In the depths of the forest, where sunlight dances bright, Where mosses and lichens weave their tales of delight. They cling to the trees with a gentle embrace, In the heart of the woods, in their mystical space.

(Chorus) Oh, mosses and lichen, in hues of green and gold, In the whispering breeze, their stories unfold. They dance with the shadows, they sing with the trees, In the land of enchantment, where time stands at ease.

(Verse 2) They carpet the earth with their soft, velvet touch, In the quiet of dawn, they awaken as such. Their delicate tendrils, a tapestry rare, A kingdom of wonder, beyond compare.

(Chorus) Oh, mosses and lichen, in hues of green and gold, In the whispering breeze, their stories unfold. They dance with the shadows, they sing with the trees, In the land of enchantment, where time stands at ease.

(Bridge) Through the ages they’ve lingered, in quiet repose, Witness to secrets that nobody knows. They thrive in the silence, where magic abounds, In the heart of the forest, where dreams can be found.

(Chorus) Oh, mosses and lichen, in hues of green and gold, In the whispering breeze, their stories unfold. They dance with the shadows, they sing with the trees, In the land of enchantment, where time stands at ease.

(Outro) So let us rejoice in their mystical grace, In the realm of the forest, in this sacred place. For mosses and lichens, in their humble abode, Are the keepers of magic, in nature’s own code.

Sorry you’re getting downvoted OP but damn, this has none of the qualities I think of from LoTR’s “ballads”. It reads like a generic RPG fantasy song. Which I guess makes sense since the starting point of most fantasy RPGs are rooted in Tolkien.

But I just saw a glimpse of what people mean when they say LLMs don’t get certain nuances of art, and I kind of get it? Not that this is the community to be discussing that, lol.

Yeah, no, I hated it too. No idea why it missed so badly, it just came off as a second-grader writing it, not Tom singing.
