One of the members who skipped (anonymized):

They tried defending themselves on Twitter, saying they “didn’t feel comfortable” meeting the President. It’s no wonder why. I think all of the members who skipped are Miami gusanos part of the Trot/SAlt caucuses

      SAlt as in “Socialist Alternative”?

Yeah, they’ve always been wreckers and sectarians.

My Australian comrades hate a similar org called “Socialist Alternative” in, well, Australia; I think they have multiple branches, the most well-known being the one in America and, I think, the UK, correct me if I’m wrong.

The original post isn’t about Socialist Alternative though? Those caucuses belong to the DSA (Democratic Socialists of Amerikkka).

Yes that org. Their only success is Sawant’s councilship in Seattle. Just another petty bourg “socialist” org.

    Full article is linked here

It seems Red Star is the only caucus in the DSA with decent revolutionary socialist politics, at least according to this overview.

Socialist Majority and Reform&Revolution are both Democrat aligned caucuses. Even worse, they are the two largest caucuses in the DSA.

This issue reflects the fundamentally treacherous nature of the USA white settler left as discussed by J Sakai in his book Settlers, which is mostly only interested in increasing its own share of the colonial spoils rather than actual international liberation.
