You probably heard the news that Samurai Wallet creators were arrested (as it’s posted on this same forum). And you probably saw Tusker’s comment that we need a decentralized Github.

I could not agree more. When Monero developers make software, they cryptographically sign it to prove that they are the creator, and it has no backdoor. But we trust Microsoft’s Github and Cloudflare to give us the correct public key to begin with.

The issue with Tor Onions, is that it’s just one hidden location and if discovered it’s game over. I am proposing a dual solution,

First, federated Nostr forums with Tor Onions hosted and Tor Onion Relays posting. Here’s a list of SOME of the many Tor Relays that exist: https://simplifiedprivacy.com/nostr-relay-guide/ or http://privacypkybrxebcjicfhgwsb3coatqechwnc5xow4udxwa6jemylmyd.onion/nostr-relay-guide/

This can then be hooked into Federated Tor Onion forums, RebelNet.me / Linked-Out.me can be hosted on Onions. This makes it so that each post is spread among many forums/relays, and you’re interacting on a shared forum.

Second, PGP keys and code on IPFS. IPFS is clearnet, but actually a great source of truth. Because the CIDs can’t be modified, and multiple blockchains can be pointed to them in the clear.

I made an example PGP directory with Monero Official & Feather wallet to show you now, it has multiple VPS setup doing CDN pinning. Then we’ve pointed blockchain domain names to the CIDs, to have a neutral third party source of information for you to compare to.

It’s easy to go to this website in Brave Browser, SimplifiedPrivacy.sol , MoneroRebel.x, SimplifiedPrivacy.x, or SimplifiedPrivacy.eth

And if you don’t know how to even go to blockchain domain websites, here’s a tutorial: https://simplifiedprivacy.com/ipfs-brave-browser/ or http://privacypkybrxebcjicfhgwsb3coatqechwnc5xow4udxwa6jemylmyd.onion/ipfs-brave-browser/

Here’s the point, IPFS can provide the official source of truth, for devs to work in the dark.
