Even on cars that support it, it has always told you that you need to close Steam to put the car in drive. They don’t let you play any games while the car is in motion.
It’s been a decently good feature to have; the few times charging was a bit slow for me, it was nice to be able to play FFVI or Secret of Mana to pass the time. And it even synced my saves for when I got back home.
Then get a steam deck or something. While it’s nice to hear that cars generally won’t let you play games while driving, it’s still really concerning to me considering I’ve seen people watching videos on their phones while driving. Like, I honestly don’t get why I was downvoted.
Cause if it’s not on the entertainment system… they’re just going to use their phone? And being afraid of technology because of a small subset of people you assume are misusing it is a little fanatical.
Or you know… While sitting and charging or waiting for someone I could instead use the much more powerful GPU that is already in the vehicle and used for vision processing. The one not doing anything while parked.
The games have never been able to be played while driving. A quick search would have told you that, but you’re assuming the worst because you aren’t willing to do even the most basic check and would rather blather on about a fictional situation you think is the case.
That’s why you’re getting down voted. The thing you’re complaining about doesn’t exist and never had. It’s a pointless comment that just shows you don’t know what you’re talking about about, AND didn’t read the article.

I bet if the Steam Deck didn’t exist you would say “just play on a PC”
