The only official release sources to install Termux from are still F-Droid and GitHub as listed in our installation docs and Google PlayStore releases remain deprecated at this time.
I was looking into this last night, what’s the current Dev status of termux? I saw the last release is from 2022 and there’s a call for more maintaiers.
Its latest commit is from 4 days ago, so it looks like work is still ongoing.
It’s odd, but not unheard of for open source applications to have large windows between releases. They just might not have a reason to bump major versions, at the moment.

If you want the commits since 2022, you can always install a dev build from github.
