      I wonder if there’s a linguistic connection between that Szopen and the Schopen in Schopenhauer

        Yes. Chopin had a French name because his dad was a Frenchman, and French and German have tons of the same names because of how much history and ancestry they share. Schopen is a legit German name with many derivations like Schopenhauer.
        Szopen in Polish is just straight polonisation of Chopin due to his popularity, but what i said above about French and German is also accurate about Polish and German so there are some people in Poland with the Schopen and similar names.
