Obviously, he could say he prefers Biden and then pull every trolling ressources available to make Trump wins. This statement from Putin doesn’t have any value whatsoever. He would say openly the opposite it would still be extremely unreliable information.

I actually don’t think Putin is that concerned with the American election, because Trump was quite hawkish towards Russia despite what Democrats say. I also don’t care what Putin wants. I just want the war to end ASAP.
