Just because you shouldn’t feel proud of something doesn’t mean you should be ashamed of it, and I don’t think they’re implying one should be. I’m not proud that I have a nose, but I’m not ashamed I do either; I just have one.

I agree. Its equally as absurd to be proud of where youre from. You should be proud of achievements. You didnt achieve being a certain race or being born in a certain country etc. You ran a marathon, good for you, you should be proud. Thats kinda my point people tend to be proud of things they shouldnt.
