He’s already dug into his fund for 2024 ads, and borrowed money to post bail in Georgia. And some of his allies are begging for donations, saying he won’t pony up.

    They can’t win without his base. Polls are continually showing somewhere around 30-40% of Republicans who voted for him don’t think they’d show up if he isn’t the candidate. They’re basically stuck with him for now. If they get rid of him, it’d be an absolute blood bath and they know it.

    This is why traditionally after a major defeat in a general election candidates gracefully step down on the presidential stage. It only makes sense, you’ve proven you can’t win, give someone else a chance. Trump however doesn’t give a single fuck about the republican party and he’s going to destroy them. A rematch of the same candidates in a presidential is about unheard of in modern American history for a reason.
