Microsoft (MSFT.O) said on Thursday it would unbundle its chat and video app Teams from its Office product and make it easier for competing products to work with its software, but rivals said it may need to do more to stave off a possible EU antitrust fine.

The proposed changes came a month after the European Commission launched an investigation into Microsoft’s tying of Office and Teams, following a complaint by Salesforce-owned (CRM.N) competing workspace messaging app Slack in 2020.

    Meanwhile back in the US we’ll continue to be forced by our employers to use it because there isn’t sufficient regulatory oversight here.
