1. I see people saying they use Stremio + Torrentio + RD together and you don’t need a VPN. Why would you not need a VPN for that setup?

  2. I’ve heard RD cracks down hard on password sharing and you should only share with people in your home–but what if you go out of town? Can you watch stuff on your phone or whatever anywhere you go, or will they ban you unless you only watch from home?

  3. Will RD ban you if you use a VPN?

Not too experienced with it but my understanding is:

    1. RD caches files. You aren’t torrenting directly, but rather you ask for the file associated with a link, and then download it directly

    2. Pretty sure you can travel all you want. It’s only a problem if two locations are using it at the same time or something

    3. that should be fine, but check their site for a list of approved VPNs

These are correct answers, but to add some detail to #1: Real-Debrid downloads the torrents on their servers and you stream them from those same servers. Because your traffic is encrypted over https you do not need to use a VPN. Your ISP can only see a connection to the r-d server, not what you are streaming.

Fwiw, I use nordvpn and real debrid works great.if your like me and trying to use it anonymously as possible you can pay with Bitcoin. RD has a list of VPNs they say are allowed.
