In Australia, esim is so easy, I can press a button on my carriers website and it takes up to an hour (always 10-15) and I’m off on the new phone with a link to the new SIM
Hopefully they figure something out. In the Verizon CDMA days changing phones SUCKED. Knowing Verizon, watch for bullshit service fees anytime you have to use their website to swap esims. Future ain’t necessarily bright.
And being FORCED to have a shitty program that I don’t want/need is the reason I’ll drop a cellphone and go VoIP in my house only. Can’t reach me, leave a message.

It is just that easy for switching phones with Google Fi. Install the app and sign in.
They already do that in many places, usually you have to install the carrier’s app.
