    It might not even take that long. Inside 5 years they’ll be some other trend everyone’s chasing and they’ll have committed, they can pivot but they aren’t the young upcoming they once were so they get lost in the crowd of disaffected people entering their 30s with no outlook, no purpose without their “brand” and no way to start again.

    Maybe I’m a little pessimistic, I never bother with social media. I see enough of it via my friends and family. Reddit/Lemmy gets the highlights so I don’t need to bother with anything else.

    Influencer culture just needs to drop off a cliff.
