The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt are among six nations that have been invited to join the BRICS group of nations, and will join it in Janurary 2024

What do you guys think what effects it will have on the global economy?

You should re-read what I wrote - I didn’t provide “information,” but more of a feeling based on what is going on.

I’m not an economist, but look at the exchange rate of the Ruble. As my poor-man’s attempt at an explanation - economists are now saying the Russian economy is “overheating,” due to expenditures from war, but half that war chest is now depleted.

It’s wonderful to open new manufacturing. However, if it’s not competitive on the world stage, it doesn’t exactly help the economy. Are the turbines using latest-generation ceramics? Probably not, the newest stealth fighter spews smoke. Will Russia have EUV machines in the near future? Definitely not at this point.

What Russia is doing now is preparing for survival, and it needs manufacturing now that Western sanctions have cut off markets. Putin has single handedly sealed the fate of a generation. China is even seizing the opportunity by re-drawing borders on maps.

It’s really sad that this many Russians are dying in Ukraine for one man’s ego. I will never understand why he felt the need to go on his “3-day special military operation.”

Putin had to do it now or he would have lost even harder. The demographics in Russia are going to make the next 20 years really bad, and he needed to go now to gain control over the oil and gas fields as well as major pipelines to Europe or it wouldn’t have ever worked.

China is going to have a similar choice to make soon, as their demographics in 10 years won’t have enough men of military age to possibly retake Taiwan, so they either do it now with the forces they have or it never happens.

What? I’ll always read the 1st sentense. And it’s enough.

What a boring topic. Who created it?
