Someone should tell the government of California that they can revoke the land water use licenses that allow this resource extraction

Edit: it’s fairly common to use “land use” and “water use” interchangeably, but water usage rights are very complex in this area of the country so shouldn’t be confused in this situation

Someone should tell you they are taking the water from US Govt land, for which the state of California does not issue land use licenses.

The cease and desist was issued by California, not the federal government. Water rights in that area of the country is very complicated, but essentially falls onto individual states to handle water disputes (unless it’s between states). This is part of the drama involved with the federal government telling states in the southwest to figure out their water usage, or the federal government will

About time. Nestle is one of the most evil food companies in the world, and that’s saying something with the amount of scummy shit going on out there.

Sounds like there is no option to pay for the water instead. Let’s be real though, only reason the company was still there because it was free.

Nestle will probably just bottle Arrowhead with municipal water somewhere next to an interstate now.

Arrowhead is so fucking nasty, they should just ditch the line altogether. Definitely the worst tasting water I’ve had across the US.
