Hello,

I’m thinking about getting a Pixel because I really like the smart photo features like unblur etc.

On their website it states that you need to use Google Photos to get those features. However, do you know if photos actually need to sync to Google Photos? Or is it enough to have the app installed, sync turned off and then be able to apply that stuff on the locally stored, not synced photos?

I don’t want to use Google Photos because I have my own NAS at home but wouldn’t want to miss out on those features if I own a Pixel.

I don’t have sync on and I can use magic eraser, portrait light, etc.

I never saw the option for photo unblur. Idk if that’s because I’m on a Pixel 6A, because it never recognized a photo as blurry, or because I have sync off.
