I used to love watching primary debates, but these people are so disgusting and anti-American it makes me physically ill to watch them.

The entire Republican party is a cancer on this country.

No. A long time ago, Republicans were the party of Lincoln. They were the anti-slavery party. They didn’t become evil until just about halfway through the last century, when they leaned hard into bigotry.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people

Imagine a Republican today saying that, and not about Ukraine

Don’t get attached to the name, the point I was making was that conservative ideology has always been poisonous and dangerous to society.

Thanks for the basic history lesson from 7th grade though. Definitely didn’t already know that tidbit (I did).

There is something truly sad about this scene. It’s like…. what the fuck happened? How did we get here? There are a bunch of intellectually detached grown-ass adults on TV spewing pure nonsense as they run for POTUS.

I realize it’s also pathetic and kind of funny but, at its core, it’s just sad.

    I can’t take any more

I tried to watch the first one just to see if they referenced anything useful. Nope. Just trying to out-culture war anti-woke circle jerk each other. I made it 5 minutes and I had to go read “See Spot Run” for some mentally stimulating content afterwards because I felt like watching made me lose that many brain cells.

Ramaswamy’s probably the one to keep an eye out for, DeSantis might represent white rebellion against “wokeness” but Vivek’s imported grievance culture with caste equity policy is a dangerous thing to just shrug off when folks of his caste heritage are more common than not among who’s allowed in via our current immigration system.

I keep wondering if Vivek gets the win (unlikely because trump) would the super racists in the tiniest of towns even vote for him? Probably, because Dems bad, but i can also imagine them just not voting

It’ll certainly be a funny predicament to behold

"OH NO! THE WOKES HAVE INFILTRATED THE PARTY AND MADE ME VOTE FOR ONE OF THEM!"

I was realizing last night that I wished Yang had Ramaswamy’s energy. Well, maybe not so manic, but Yang got nowhere in the polls because he was just way too quiet during the debates. He needed to speak up more and call others out like Ramaswamy does.

But I absolutely hate Ramaswamy and think he’d be really dangerous as President.

Well it was obvious that trump is a complete shitstain and will do nothing but damage the country and yet people still voted for him. If the concept of evil itself ran as republican, they’d vote for it.

You could not better summarize this than by “Seven Republican candidates not named Donald Trump”.

Trump knows that a real debate where he cannot 100% control the rhetoric would be bad for him. And it shows the really sad situation of the Reps that they let him get away with this: not participating in the debate, simply ignoring the support pledge. And we all know that if the Reps choose someone else, Trump will not support him or her. If the Reps had a slither of backbone left, they would simply exclude him from the race for even one of the issues. The fact that they let him get away with both shows that they cannot be trusted.

Well, they do have Sahra Palin - she would be crazy and stupid enough to get a GOP nomination. The requires insanity one needs to be nominated as a Republican candidate is not just a male trait.
