Climate change may cause disruptions to solar generation in the future, modeling suggests::Climate change may affect the future stability of grid-connected solar power systems—something that needs to be considered in the planning of Australia’s renewable energy transition.
Climate change will change energy generated by climate conditions. No shit.
Australia, renewable? Let’s see that happen.
Australia has the worlds highest uptake of rooftop PV, and grid-scale PV is our fastest growing energy source.
At this state, it is not the trend/potential-growth that we need to keep an eye on. It is the actual current % energy consumption that matter. Nevertheless, your point is very encouraging.
Solar may cause disruptions in climate. Cover the outback in solar? Those dark panels make more heat than 'leccy and stops the light ground bouncing the Sun back into the sky.
In a fantasy land that would work great, but that is realistically a project that would totally dwarf the great wall of China. Getting residential solar is way more practical and useful than covering land with panels nevermind the ecological disaster that would be.
At first, just our city heat islands become more so. Then the North African nations realise how much money can be made exporting green electricity. And competition brings that ecological disaster closer.
