I think like any business, if the intent is simply to make money then the product is disappointing. If the intent is to give the customer a good experience then the product will be sought after. That’s why the best content creators aren’t just hot, they’re freaky too and enjoy doing it.
True amateurs are still to be found but as usual it takes some time and effort. Monetization is so simple that it’s gotta be a strong consideration for almost any popular amateur.
