Thank you, I’m realising I must be uploading pics wrong because I don’t host them on imgur anymore (obviously) and yet they come up as an imgur link/attachment everytime I try to post

Hi Trixi, so awesome to see you here 😍

You can direct upload pics to LemmyNSFW, as long as they are up to 4096x4096 px.

Try using Boost for Lemmy app (if you are on Android). Or Summit app…

If you don’t want to direct upload to LemmyNSFW, try imgchest (Images + they allow video clips up to 30mb max size) or lensdump (only images) hosting services.

And you absolutely must come say hi at !butterflywings@lemmynsfw.com !dangleandjingle@lemmynsfw.com, !flatchested@lemmynsfw.com 😉 (background - Trixi co-mods these subreddits with me)

Weird. Maybe it’s a Memmy thing - check your settings to see if it defaults image uploads there or something. You should just be able to upload directly to the Lemmy site. I just tested and it worked that way for me at least.

A lot of users will use Catbox.moe or redgifs for image and video hosting from what I’ve seen, but I haven’t personally used them so I can’t speak to how they operate.

So smart, I’ll do just that, cheers. Redgifs is not my cup of tea as my post engagement on Reddit has plummeted by honestly like 90% since having to make the switch back, which is even stranger because whenever I first started out in 2021 I used redgifs and engagement was great.

Any idea if catbox allows gifs? May be worth a try over on Reddit as well as I’d like to find some solution there too, though the app does seem to be on its way out anyway…

WOW I’m sorry to hear that. Is that drop only in the past few months?

Catbox should allow gifs as long as it’s a supported file format and under 200mb. The site is small and easy to navigate and they have a list of the files they accept in their FAQ. I’d recommend checking it out as it may work for you.
