What are you talking about? Will the spammers pay a dollar to reach an audience of 20,000 or 50,000 or a million people? Of course they will.
OC is talking about bot farms with 20,000 or 50,000 accounts.
Right. So to get boosted or to spread disinformation will become more expensive. the operating costs for bot farms will go up, squeezing out small players. Boosting and propaganda won’t go away, it will just be controlled by governments and oligarchs.
And you think having to give Elon $20,000 or $50,0000 of their yearly revenue will stop them? You think they accounts are generating less than $1 a year in revenue each? Or close enough that this will sink them?
The bot farms have real costs; like electricity, computers, personnel, rent, bribes to local officials, etc. Having to pay 8 cents per account per month is a drop in the bucket, they won’t even notice.
