It’s as clear as day that the US doesn’t chose a position based on good morals/ethics. I really don’t get why some people don’t see it, it’s so easy to spot.
They are not brainwashed. They have no agency. They choose to believe what is comforting because they don’t have the option to live in a country that does what is right.
Those people are far away. In a way it is absurd to worry about what you can’t control. We need to do what gives us power. When we, the proletariet have power, this cynicism about humanity fades.
It’s not anything new. When the Mai Lai massacre was exposed. There was a poll and most Americans said that the massacre did not disturb them or change their support for the war.
Americans don’t care unless it directly affects them. They’ve been trained to see war as something far away that will never reach them.
