View towards it cycling around it on a trip a few years ago. Beautiful mountain, haha.

They did not think i was actually going to ride mont ventoux back then, and i wasn’t, they just knew it from tour de france. At that point i had never ridden any mountain and did not plan to do so either. It was on that trip though that i started to be interested in cycling mountains.

Maybe it doesn’t translate, just an inside joke with my coworkers.

I am still having a blast, but i am also starting to look forward to get back home again. Guess in ten days / two weeks i’ll be home. But there’s still some good stuff coming up for me and i am in crazy good shape right now, having been cycling mountains basically every day for two months now, that makes it a lot of fun.

The mountains are the foothills of montagne de lure, south of sisteron. Not so sure if you can see those from digne, maybe the lure proper.

I am pretty sure this is the same plant that i saw on plateau valensole, and a google search tells me it would be salvia sclarea.

Sure that would be nice, but that ain’t happening on these kind of roads, it would be a huge effort to do that. It was on the road up to Col de la Bonette, it is relatively narrow. I also don’t think this is a transit pass, only tourists and joy riders go up there really. And lots of cyclists. The road did not have much traffic at all today, and everybody seemed very careful.

Oh influencers. Haven’t thought of those, that fits i guess.

The tax criminals / profiteurs of tax criminality driving their loud fancy sports cars through the andorran valleys and up to the golf courts.

Andorra. Full of motor bozos, duty free shops, terrible cities in the valleys. A tax haven joke country. Nice mountains i guess.

France is beautiful, i’m always coming back.

Terrible, not a real city, like the other person said, feels more like a theme park for tourists. Already did 20 years ago, last time i’ve been, never going back.

Same for me, with a bicycle and tent. Camp sites are also ok priced, at least for cyclists. Very much enjoy cycling in switzerland, i also think people are friendly. I used to have different experiences but those were just single persons / crazy people or something.

Love summer. Love all the seasons, but would be nice if summer was one, two months longer and winter shorter.

There were two single bikes like these further down the mountain, but i guess they were just making their way up to the pack.

Actually the climb was super nice now, just dried all my clothes already. Shame about the views i guess, i had zero on the ascend, but 300m down the descend i was out of the clouds.

What was amazing that there was zero traffic, up and down. Just one tractor and one concrete mixer. I don’t know why, because of the weather or because the small soulon pass after aubisque was closed for traffic because of construction (was fine with a bike though, thank god).

I don’t know, i kinda like the seat. Not the looks per se but i have a similar sofa on my city bike. Looks great!

Nah, that doesn’t help, but thank you very much for giving feedback, that is really nice. I will keep updating this topic in the bicycle touring community. I have also updated my “cycle toruing in spain” topic over there with kind of diary entries up to the point that lead me to start this new topic.
