Linux is still not viable for creative work, office work or competitive gaming, 3 of the most important uses of computers.

I’d love to see Linux be more widespread, but until I can play any game, use my required abobe products and run Microsoft office it’s pretty much a useless operating system. Open source alternatives don’t exist for many uses, or if they do they’re a significantly worse experience

They offer enterprise level support for their engine and also have a lot of mobile focused development. They have their own in house ad provider and dedicated a bunch of man power to monetizing mobile as much as possible

They disrupt the nature a little less. Animals aren’t hit crossing the street because they can go over and other small benefits like that. They also look nice and tunnels are fun when your car sounds nice

If you look at the steam charts, the big FPS games pretty much dominate. I’d argue that does mean the majority are playing at least 1 of the incompatible games at least somewhat casually or with friends.

Most of the unplayables aren’t going to be Linux compatible. Most have come out and explicitly said so. If it hasn’t enabled Linux support by now, I’d expect it to never come.

EAC being enabled for Linux brings the security of the whole system down, which is why there’s resistance to it. You’re not able to cover nearly as much, so cheaters have exponentially more attack surface for a very minimal gain of players.

Unfortunately that 10% of games that don’t work are extremely popular and do happen to be what I’d consider a majority of pc gamers are playing
