But really, books already are not the way to make a fortune unless you are in the field of basically being able to dictate what books are used in every educational institution in an entire nation. How would they imagine a pirate, who shares these books, has server upkeep to pay and at best gets very sporadic donations, could afford a lavish lifestyle from this endeavour?
Yeah. The clown award (and similar “derogatory” awards) giving the receiver Steam points is the worst thing that happened to the quality of posts/comments on the Steam forums. The first two comment pages on patchnotes of games like Helldivers 2 are almost exclusively pointfarmers doing their best to reap clown awards.

I need to look into the latency thing. From my limited knowledge it makes no sense that a wireless mouse could have better latency than a wired one. Unless the wire is made of something barely conductive to electricity and the wireless works with stupidly fast transmission tech, I guess o.o

But what are the benefits of a wireless mouse? You don’t have to string the cable from the back of your PC to the mousepad, sure, but that’s something you do once a blue moon (unless you often go to LAN partys (which, in itself, are probably not a thing anymore)). At work, okay, I sometimes get up off my chair and have my company-provided wireless mouse on my leg to keep scrolling while I read through legal documents, but that’s a rare use case, too, no?

Man, if I want to get a pretty good overview on almost anything, Wikipedia is the best and most accessible way. Luckily, the consensus seems to slowly change to a cautious “Don’t use Wikipedia as your only source, especially on controversial topics.”

By whom and why would the sites get DDOSed if they didn’t use Cloudflare? Am I wrong to assume that internet traffic is just as trackable for the internet provider if the server traffic first visits Cloudflare vs just using whatever the provider…uhhh…provides?
Mind you, while I can follow a logical argument, most stuff concerning networks like the internet still feels like magic to me for the most part. We use Cloudflare because, after reading up on it a little bit, I got the notion that it would likely improve our connection speed and especially the loading speed of my gf’s webtoon sites. But that’s about the extent of my knowledge.
Maybe we should acknowledge that neither North Korea nor the USA are without fault and that in some aspects they are similar enough that they would be confused with each other in a blind test.
The main difference for the vast majority here is that public outrage and votes in elections for their respective governments won’t change a thing in North Korea.

Yup, now the only reason for me to occasionally switch to the actual YouTube page is to give videos likes and subscribes (that actually count for the person and aren’t just bookmarks for myself)
I’d love to know that, too. I understand craving the security of a monthly “paycheck”, but I avoid subscriptions whenever possible because all those individual “Giving that cause/software/YouTuber 2€ per month is barely noticeable” do become noticeable at some critical mass

I have one that I like to imagine as secure as fully randomised passwords. It’s four words but, because I’m a cool pwnz0r, the second and last word are written in leetspeak. The phrase is super easy for me to remember and the leetspeak portion has become muscle memory by now. But I only use it for my password manager. For everything else it depends if there’s a good chance I’ll need to login via my phone (no pw manager there). If yes, I use one of my couple rather-safe passwords. If no, I’ll let KeePass2 go to town with a random one.
Oh and I’m subscribed to the haveibeenpwned leakletter, so i know as soon as possible when definitely to change my password.

I totally get the "a full stop seems arrogant, which is why, unless I write formal mails for work or such, just skip the full stop in short one-sentence-answers or if a linebreak makes for better reading because my two or three sentences pertain to different topics.
