I use Boost and it seems to be able to do at least most of the moderation actions needed, and it supports notifications. I think Summit, Connect, Sync, and Jerboa are also good but I haven’t used them too much.

Seems to be a purely cosmetic change. I was wondering if the OS has any different behavior when charging quickly (like being more aggressive with running background processes, and running updates/backups) but the article didn’t say anything about that.

If my phone was only charging at 5 or 6W I’d want to know the charger is garage. That might not even be enough to use the phone without losing battery. What they really need is to rename “slow” to “very slow”, and then 5W to 7.5W could be considered the new “slow”. The intent being that “very slow” is problematically slow (maybe the OS scheduler could pretend the phone is not charging). And “slow” charging would just be for mild inconvenience.

If only the phone could just tell me the actual number of watts it’s charging at lol. Even if it’s rounded and averaged.

Yeah I did take the age into account, I just figured it’s over a 10x difference and not all of that would be due to battery age.

My mom is still using my release day Galaxy S9+ lol

very interesting, I wonder if the difference is due to the Pixel 8 Pro having a variable refresh rate screen, maybe also because it has a higher resolution screen and different graphic drivers

but with Chrome being about 10x more efficient on P8P than P4a, I’m guessing the variable refresh rate is a big factor there that Firefox isn’t using as optimally

In the user settings there’s an option to export everything to a file, then you just import that file into your other account

Most niche communities (with some exceptions ofc:-) here aren’t as active as they were on Reddit, so many of us end up spending more time in the generalized ones - e.g. !technology@lemmy.world rather than specific ones like r/OnePlus or even r/Android.

a pretty simple plugin idea would be a regex to validate post titles, deny the post if the title is invalid

I guess to start with it could be a config file with a dictionary of community name: regex

and later it could be made to use the database with an api to set the regexes, could even allow community moderators to set their own regexes (might need a maximum regex length, maximum number of parenthesis, and disable lookbehind/lookahead, for performance reasons)

For those thinking it may be due to Steam Deck with SteamOS, it’s unlikely, at least not directly. StatCounter gather their info from web traffic across over 1.5 million sites globally. I doubt all that many browse the web regularly on Deck.

But also Steam hardware survey shows Linux at only 2%, and Steam Deck I think was only half of that? So these numbers for desktop usage are higher than what Steam is seeing.

Was it the grog mugs? I got stuck there for a while lol
