Finally winning the lottery!!
But don’t you just get tired of jumping through hoops for every little thing these days?
Big tech needs to stop being evil. There, problem solved, right…right…ha
They are displacing text messaging and making it look like nothings changed.
They get more of your data, so there’s that.
If only Signal were the default messaging app!!!
Doesn’t scanning before upload imply the encryption is broken somewhere? Is that the point, to remove encryption? Forgive my naivete.
I do. Companies do seem to be adding them everywhere. Eventually everything will showcase ads because not enough consumers were against it. Apps that are part of the OS, imo, should not have any ads, regardless of price point for the device.
While the new UI offers mostly a bloatware-free experience, it’s the ads that are annoying. For starters, the pre-installed Weather App, although can be deleted, is LOADED with ads. The ad loading also causes the app to feel super jittery and slow. So, I’d get rid of that first. Secondly, it’s the Moto Hub, which is actually a hub of ugly ads and shady app recommendations.
There’s a Moto Hub home screen widget as well, which comes preloaded and shows ads. Moto Hub also spams you with not-so-appealing notifications. So, that’s the second thing you’d want to force stop since you can’t uninstall.
I am so tired of companies being allowed to shove ads everywhere!
Yes, and imo, this will not matter to most people, especially tech companies like Microsoft. The mass perception of apathy only extends consent and approval for further violations of privacy.
The letter opens with an admission by the collective of police chiefs that they’re unable to do their jobs unless tech companies do half the work for them.
I suppose previous generations of law enforcement that were able to do their jobs before all this does not count.
For the non tech person choosing to be as private as possible, can you just turn it off and it not collect anything? Sorry for the naive question. I honestly do not know the answer.
When did it become ok for people to be violated so profusely without any consequence?
I appreciate everything being done on our behalf. Thanks Dude!
Everytime I see this now, I always see the version from Doctor Who series 5 episode 10 “Vincent and the Doctor” with the monster in the window.
Count me out then!
Wouldn’t this require full access to everything? Would all your files and interactions then go to OpenAI and their partners? Wouldn’t this be even less private?
Is there no longer an option to use the machine without the report or connection to internet?
I chose to cancel a while back. I stopped using prime video, (really didn’t like prime original ads at the start of everything), and usually didnt order enough to warrant the cost for free shipping. Especially since it would take a week or more before delivery.
I believe this sums it up.
