Not just money, there’s a risk that if Wagner is successful there, they could start recruiting from there more soldiers to send to Ukraine.

Also there are fast food alternatives to McDonalds as well.
IMO, Wendy’s has much better burgers. Haven’t had Carl’s Jr’s in a long while but I remember their “$6 Burgers” were pretty good.
Burger King, the meat quality seems to have gone downhill. Like an unchewable but in each meat patty. They used to be my favorite.
Edit: the “$6 burger” is now called the thick burger since it now costs more than $6
Do you have an issue with roofers protecting themselves? /s
There’s a thing called organizational death spiral. You don’t have to down 100% of aircraft to cripple the Russian Air Force.
The less planes they have, the more they have to use the same aircraft, the more airframe stress that accumulates on those airframes, the fewer aircraft they have to rotate in during repairs and maintenance.
Also:
Modern Russian aircraft are designed for a 3,500 and 4,500 flight hour service life, and some for as many as 6,000. But the Soviet-era platforms were designed for 2,000 to 3,500 hours. Some models, such as the MiG-31, have been upgraded to extend service life, but most of the older models are nearing the end of their service lives with only 500 to 1,000 hours remaining.
Reminds me of Coffee Stain’s Studio trailer for the release of Goat MMO Simulator:
We have not granted permission
You’ll see the same response from Listerine in regards to generic or other competing mouthwashes.
In other words, it doesn’t mean much. In the past Nintendo has many times unleashed their lawyers on Day 1 of an infringing project getting a public release.
More like unexpected new features, like the all new spontaneous exit row!
It’s probably accurate that they can manufacture 10 20 to 90 new tanks a month, the bulk of what they have been putting on the field now are tanks they have pulled from long term storage.
I’d imagine they would have to be checked over, relubricated, and have any decayed rubber components (hoses and such) replaced.
The main thing is the loss of the trained tank crews they had at the start of the war.
Also, the older tanks they’re fielding now require more of the crew (less automation, no modern optics) and can be more fatiguing to the crew as comfort was less of a design concern of the time period.
Edit:
Found an article that claims they can produce 20-90 tanks a day month.
In September 2022, the estimate was that Russia had 3300 operational tanks at the start of the 2022 Invasion (plus their thousands of non operational or retired ones).
If those numbers are right, Russia has lost the equivalent of their initial total force of tanks plus 2200 they un-mothballed…
Overall vote tally:
98% (206) of Democrats voted yes (to expell)
1% (2) voted No
1% (2) voted present
49% (105) of Republicans voted to expel
51% (112) of Republicans voted No
Even better, find someone who talks in an American accent who wants to speak in a your old accent.
Agree to bump into each other hard in front of your friends, when you get up, switch accents.
Alternative, celebrate your birthday together and each can wish for the others accent.
Also, server side anti-cheat computation costs the gaming company money.
Though you’d think some forms of cheating would be computationally inexpensive to detect, like teleporting and such.
It depends on when you were around and reading geeky news sites. FUD came up often on Slashdot in relation to Microsoft:

and the SCO v. IBM section are relevant.
This video presentation on Reddit explains it best (SFW):

(Sound on)
Just the system, keeping another African American down.
I started a thread on asklemmy to find out what are alternatives to scummy tax services that lobby against the better interests of tax payers. So far Tax Free USA seems like the one with the lowest cost (free Federal, $15 State) and while they are a member of a lobby group, the group has spent a fraction of what Intuit and H&R Block has to keep our tax returns complex.
Seems if I link the thread, my comment is hidden.
Info about their lobbying actions: https://sunlightfoundation.com/2013/04/15/tax-preparers-lobby-heavily-against-simple-filing/
Outside of tax preparers themselves, the industry is reinforced in its opposition to return-free filing by various trade and advocacy groups. One of these is the American Coalition for Taxpayer Rights (ACTR), an organization composed of various tax preparers and makers of tax software. In addition to Intuit, H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt, their membership includes TaxAct, TaxSlayer, Liberty Tax Services and more. It’s a relatively new group, but in the only two years it’s existed the ACTR has poured almost $450,000 into the tax lobby, including six mentions of opposing “simple-filing” in their disclosures.
So far from this old reddit mega-thread:
the most recommended over the services above is FreeTaxUSA
also there’s this tip in the comments:
My tip: turbo tax only charges you at the very end when you go to actually file. So what I do is do my tax paperwork at both turbo tax and freetaxusa then compare the final return (or due) amount between the two. Every couple years, there’s a hundred or so dollar difference between the two and I dig in to find the difference before submitting and paying for ONLY freetaxusa
Edit: Credit Karma was another recommendation, but they are owned by Intuit since 2020:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_Karma
Edit 2: Another article on industry lobbying
So you mainly want to avoid Intuit owned companies and H&R Block. They alone spent millions per year to lobby against easy and free filing for taxpayers.
Then there’s the ACTR (American Coalition Of Taxpayer Rights) who spend $100s of thousands a year lobbying for the same (and are made up by 14 members:
https://www.americancoalitionfortaxpayerrights.org/about/
Intuit
H&R Block
Tax Act
OnLine Taxes
Wolters Kluwer
Tax Hawk
Liberty Tax
Drake Software
Jackson Hewitt
also the following financial institutions:
Netspend
Republic Bank
TPG Santa Barbara
pathward
Edit: Started a post in /c/asklemmy to find out alternatives. Tax Act was my go-to company, but they’ve joined the ACTR at some point, so they’re a no-go.

Edit 2: Checking out some older reddit threads on the subject, FreeTaxUSA may be the best option so far. FreeTaxUSA are owned by Tax Hawk which is a member of the ACTR, however of all the ones i’ve checked so far, they are the cheapest (free Federal and $15 state), and at least they’re not one of the top lobbying companies like Intuit(Turbo Tax/Credit Karma tax services), H&R Block, or Jackson Hewitt.
The orcas thought the humans wanted to start a mosh pit.
Yup, it’s interesting how so many of these universal ID for voting laws don’t also include an easy, convenient, and free means for all citizens to get IDs.
