Thanks for your hard work on this great Lemmy app.
Great lists so far. I’ll add one that I picked up from a previous thread:
URLCheck
URLCheck acts as an amazingly customizable and powerful intermediary when opening url links, allowing, among other things: to remove trackers, affiliate links, unnecessary elements, check Hosts, facilitating link holding and sharing, protecting against certain phishing techniques and many more…
You should check out Stardew Valley. Super chill game that evolves at your own pace.
Don’t like to fish on the game? Don’t fish.
Don’t like to go in the mines and fight stuff? Don’t go in the caves.
Play on a PC and want to spend hours just modding the hell out of the game? Go for it.
I’m very leary about installing any extensions that use the permission “Access your data for all websites”. I get that they need to see the website so they can do their thing, but I just don’t trust that they are any better having my data than the site I just visited.
Definitely not the correct place to ask, but does anyone know what brand or model ebike that is?

Another factor is how addictive the game is designed to be. A quick search led me to https://www.video-game-addiction.org/what-makes-games-addictive.html which covers some of the things. For example:
Games that hook players are often designed to be just difficult enough to be truly challenging, while allowing players to achieve small accomplishments that compel them to keep playing. In that respect, the design of video games is similar to the design of gambling casinos, which will allow players to have small “wins” that keep them playing.>
Going over addictive design elements like this can at least let people be more aware of why they keep wanting to play.
Thanks for the advice.
I have a US made Wahl trimmer as well and love it.
Was the replacement also US made? I’m considering sharpening the blades on mine instead of purchasing a new one since I’m worried about the quality of the replacement.
Good bot
Not sure how to link a Lemmy instance, but this link should hopefully work: https://sub.wetshaving.social/c/wetshaving
Fantastic breakdown, thank you.
From the article:
Nothing ‘normal’ about it A lot of commentary uses the framing of a “new normal,” as if our climate has undergone a step change to a new state. This is deeply misleading and downplays the danger. The unspoken implication of “new normal” is that the change is past and we can adjust to it as we did to the “old normal.”
So it may truly be the new normal, but they don’t want you to say that for fear of getting complacent and unwilling to do anything about solving the problem…got it.
Thank you for all of your time with this.

“The Avalon submarine was donated to the Morro Bay Maritime Museum in Morro Bay, California, and is currently on public display.”
I needed to read the headline a few times since it didn’t make sense to me. I kept pronouncing damselfish as dam-selfish instead of damsel-fish. Haha, maybe I need more coffee.
The door writing doesn’t seem relevant, no. This cartoon references “Buffalo Bill” Cody, jokingly saying he could have gone down a few different career paths, but ultimately he chose the Buffalo route.
I initially joined this conversation to say that there would be no way for anyone to deserve such a great shoe tying complement, but after researching your abilities I must say that I stand corrected. Bravo on your fantastic ability.
