I agree with the original post. It’s what also killed it for me. Felt like the writers went for the lowest hanging fruit.

I mean it’s Star Trek, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, nobody cares about that. Be whoever you want to be, you will be accepted. To me that’s what Star Trek has always been about, you will always be included.

Don’t even remember when I stopped watching it, I tried a few episodes each season and I just gave up. Burnham has such a great smile but in all episodes she has a nervous breakdown and is always sad. At least that’s how I remember the series in my head. Everybody’s depressed. Don’t remember anything else.

I would love that. I have a refurbished Steam Deck and I don’t use it that much, actually I’m barely using it. I’ve been a PC gamer all my life, I have a pretty strong workstation and a gaming laptop.

So for me a perfect pocket Deck would be a smaller and lighter one, less powerful to play indie titles, 2d games or really old games like Fallout 3, New Vegas(40fps). Not to try and run Starfield on it or any new and demanding games. I play those games on my PC. The current Deck is too big and not really carry friendly in my bags.

Still I bought it to support the system, I would love for the whole gaming scene to move to Linux, even if most of my PCs run Windows. Maybe this in turn will also push app developers to also make their apps available on Linux.

Feels like the 4.0 version has been in alpha/beta for years now? I thought they abandoned the idea.

I do the same. I don’t care if there is an algorithm or not, I don’t care if you get 0,00001% more money. The end doesn’t justify the means. I am on a personal vendetta, every time I am on YT and I see a thumbnail like that or one with clickbait text or arrows. It’s instant don’t recommend channel. I don’t care if I am subbed to that channel or not. Stop finding excuses, we need a gram of human decency, stop whoring yourself like that

ios is not really privacy friendly. It’s more the result of an amazing PR campaign. That plus the fact that Apple wasn’t really in the ad game but now it is slowly changing. In reality you are giving your data to Apple. You will say, yeah but Apple is ok, of course they are because they have great marketing. Google doesn’t and Google = privacy nightmare, which is also true.

Sure, that’s how it should be and I think a browser should adapt to the user.

I would love to use Firefox, would switch in an instant but the browser feels so barebones. I’m using Vivaldi and that’s how I think Firefox should have been, tons of options and features. Don’t want to install extensions that might be sold to the highest bidder.

I always install Linux, 1-2 times per year but in the end I always go back to Windows. I have apps which are Windows only but whenever I want to change display scaling to 125% on Linux, is when I slowly start losing interest in it.

I’m all in for all of us holding hands and walking into the sunshine. But if someone has a concern about a potential unfair advantage because their oponent used to be male/female, they are automatically labeled as having “fragile ego”? That sounds very condescending. What should they do, just walk it off because you don’t like it?

They should make tests for all sports and decide if there is a potential advantage to be gained from being born male/female and decide on a case by case basis. If there is none, perfect, game on!

I think there was a scandal in the US with a swimmer some time ago? My wife used to play tennis as a child and she said it was brutal when they were training and playing against males. It was a completely different level.

Adobe already killed almost all competition in the creative space and I hate that. I’m thankful for software like Davinci Resolve and the Affinity apps.

Got a 64GB refurb when they were in stock end of September, honestly I couldn’t tell it was a refurb. It looked like new, the only thing that might have given it away was the carrying case, had a few small smudges but I got a Tomtoc anyway so it didn’t matter anyway.
