I like to draw a contrast with Xi Jingping’s recent summit with the Arab League.

1. He praises them on their achievements, acknowledges the difficulties and asks them to strive to create creative new solutions to existing problems.
2. Asks the leaders a bunch of questions as to what is going on right now to get their insight.
3. Thanks them for educating him.
4. Asks what role can China play in a mutual “win-win” relationship.
5. Thanks them for their time and gifts them some Chinese food, beverage or trinket.

That’s largely the way he goes about interacting with nations, compare that with the Occupied Indigenous Nations that we commonly call “USA”, and how they claim to “run the world”.

Peronists have always been anti-neoliberal and hold a “friends with everyone” stance. Even if that meant for Juan Peron that that meant since he wouldn’t agree to snub the Soviets, the US refused to have relations and vice versa. They have expressed support for Cuba, Iran and said that Russia is a “great friend” and initially exclusively used the Sputnik-V vaccine until being pressured to distribute the Johnson + Johnson shot.

Tbf Argentina would be a grand ally without Milei in power. While not explicitly leftist, Argentina’s Peronist governments would be a stalwart ally in the region.

I think that the US State Department blew out of proportion the fact that Vietnam sided with the USSR in the First Cold War and not the PRC (which were technically allies of the US at that moment) and the spat over the Spratly Islands. Sure they do have disagreements but to believe that Vietnam will seriously be used as a pawn against China is absolutely moronic.

I mean in any normal world, that is a coherent response.

The problem with the modern US government is so many Americans after the 80s and especially after the USSR’s illegal dissolution ACTUALLY LEGITIMATELY FUCKING BELIEVE the neoliberal propaganda. Cuba is a relatively small island with sugar, coffee and tobacco being its greatest natural resources… great for enjoyment not so much for global geopolitical control.

Russia, on the other hand, is the largest nation on earth by landmass rich in iron, natural gas, oil, etc etc etc. cutting it off (especially given that their also cut off nations of Iran and the DPRK are right next to them) is absolutely pointless. All it will do is force Russia into cutting itself off from the West it desperately tried to connect with after 1991. Don’t interrupt an enemy making a mistake, but FFS, they’re clearly fucking themselves over. Especially since all it does is make BRICS+ stronger.

To think Ukraine could’ve walked out of this with nothing more than a bloody nose and a bruised ego. At this point Russia has no incentive to stop, they’ve mitigated the sanctions, found states willing to buy their oil and gas and learned to produce weapons of war without importing parts… militarily they’re winning and it’s unlikely Ukraine can reasonably expect to fight much longer without a total adult male conscription (like the Nazis did once the USSR breached Germany’s borders) and even then, it would destroy their population in exchange for buying time, not a victory.

They went all in on the West, and I think just now they’re beginning to realize that they got duped.

This makes me think that Ukraine must be totally winning this war now! Heavily arming straight up nazis as well as the ”””””””””””””””” homeland of the Jewish people”””””””””””””””” is bliss.

Biden is demanding results before election time, wouldn’t be surprised if they brought the conscription age down to 18. I imagine by the time the US allows them to surrender, Ukraine is going to look more devastated than Paraguay after the War of the Triple Alliance.

For fighting in war? Ancient. I’m around that age and I work out 6 days a week and even then sometimes I feel my body being heavy when I’m forced to do something uncomfortable.
