  • See what you can get by putting some subtle feelers out. Talk to a recruiter or two. Best time to search for a job is while you have one, but you don’t have to commit to it full time unless shit really hits the fan. You’re more likely to get written up than fired initially anyway if he’s not the owner, erratic or not he has to answer for that.

Continue working towards whatever certifications you want in the meantime, especially if the job pays/reimburses you for it.

  • This is gonna sound like a #humblebrag but same. I’ve had drunken gay dudes thank me for existing because they found me that attractive. I know a decent amount of women find me attractive but it’s nowhere near the same degree.

My wife is highly amused by it, but it’s like damn, I’d be absolutely killing it if I was at all into dudes.

  • Hmmm. I’d say if you want to try some very different gameplay, one of the “special” tribes. Cymanti or Polaris can be quite fun. Aquarion used to be fairly weak but they’re a lot better following the update, elyrion was actually pretty weakened by the update but devs know this and are working on ways to make them a bit stronger.

If you just want good music, I like Yaddak and ai mo. Quetzali are fun as well. Lux is versatile but they’re more expensive than any other tribe just as a joke about their in game culture lol so buy them late imo. Wouldn’t recommend vengir till later also, swords are cool but can be hard to play since their econ takes time to develop.

  • Polytopia if you like strategy. You can buy tribes if you want to, but the basic 4 they give you have the “strongest” in the game, there’s no p2w. I’ve ended up buying all the tribes and am well on my way to all the skins (they only have one extra skin for some of the tribes at the moment) but that’s because I play it a ton and have for years, so it’s just to support the dev.

Dev is active and makes improvements regularly, just released a long anticipated update that had some significant game play changes so it feels fresh, and the changes seem to make it more interesting / balanced so far.

There’s also a very dedicated fan community on discord that sets up frequent tournaments or team games if you find you like it.

  • Hmmm. I’ve had rabbit prepared 5 different ways at a very expensive restaurant once (had just gotten a bonus for the first time in my life and it landed on my wife and I’s anniversary). It was fantastic, like dark meat from a turkey or chicken, but a tad gamey which I didn’t mind.

Venison is delicious, as is elk. Buffalo burgers are solid, not much different than regular. I’ve had ostrich jerky but it’s pretty much the same as most other jerkys by that point.

Had shark once, was very good and similar to swordfish.

Funnily enough all of these things I tried in the US, and none while actually traveling abroad despite adventures to most of the continents at this point.

  • That’s actually excellent progress, but it makes sense that it’s hard for you to see - you see yourself every day so little bits don’t seem to add up. I’ve lost 20 pounds in the past year and thought I looked the same until I actually took a look at older progress pics. Soon, you’ll likely start noticing that you need to cinch your belt tighter and things like that (a bunch of my suits now don’t fit right). Can be harder to tell if your wardrobe isn’t or wasn’t form fitting tho.

But the other thing is: remember why you’re doing this. Whatever your reason is, it’s probably not a short term goal. You want to feel/look/move better. All of that takes a lot of time and discipline. You’ll slip up, we all do (fuckin halloween candy), but you have to get back on track and remember this isn’t a short term diet, this is your new way of life. You’re choosing a harder path for a better reward down the line. That means more things that’ll trip you up, and more ways to backslide, but the views from higher up the mountain are worth it. That feeling when you can wear a sexier Halloween costume, or realize your warm up workout used to be your max output, or hell just not getting winded from taking a flight of stairs, nothing beats it.

Fitness is a journey, not a destination.
