That would be pretty damn good, actually.
Challenge defeatism.

I’ve got to say that of all the games I expected to be remastered The Thing was not one of them. An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one.

Tellus would be a cool name for a planet, imo.
Deck Nine are a source of genuine disappointment for me. I was really impressed by their LiS output and thoroughly enjoyed True Colours. And then this happened: https://www.ign.com/articles/how-hidden-nazi-symbols-were-the-tip-of-a-toxic-iceberg-at-life-is-strange-developer-deck-nine
I write in the book that there’s a weird combination of entitlement and inadequacy. You’re entitled as your birthright as a male to women’s bodies, you’re entitled to power, you’re entitled to glory, you’re entitled to this heroic position. But you’re also never going to meet it, so you’re always going to feel shame and inadequacy. That combination makes is like a perfect storm for this resentment and emasculation.
This is interesting, Ive never thought of it that way. Tell men they have a right to a particular way of life, then make it next to impossible to achieve and finally feed off the resentment that perceived failure breeds.
It’s worth bearing in mind that some of this may also be down to the rules of origin of the UK EU TCA, not necessarily a reduction in actual trade. UK and EU branded clothing and footwear made outside Europe can no longer be counted as UK or EU exports. Instead they are now recorded as an export of the country where they were manufactured.
A lot of modern clothing is made in places like India or China and then branded in another. This would have then been classed as a UK export when sent to the EU, but this is no longer the case.
This looks useful. Is this just for US products? I can’t tell from the pages themselves.

Sorry, what?

What an god-awful day to be literate.
I’ve always assumed that a cat would go nuts stuck inside all the time. Maybe I’m wrong but I imagine that most people would view it as cruel.
Fortnite never changes.

Here’s a reminder that Ubisoft is a hateful company run by a hateful man and no one should be buying their games: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/ubisoft-has-reportedly-made-minimal-changes-following-abuse-allegations
To be clear, this poll is only about American youth. I’ve not seen anything about the same reduction in urgency in youths from elsewhere in the world.
It’s also worth noting that the poll didn’t have a particularly large number of participants and that the age range was 18+ which obviously excludes a fair number of American youths younger than 18.
The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from April 18 to 22, 2024 with 808 adults in the United States.
I’m also just going to leave this here as a counterpoint:
£66bn and counting…
