Running sbc at higher bitrates than default sound subjectively better than most existing codecs. I use 552 kbit/s regulary and it sound great. Unfortunately the support for higher sbc bitrates is terrible.
Not sure about this one example but working in the industry and following the development of wing sails the ones I’ve seen will fold one way or the other. This example in the article is probably a prototype or even experimental implementation to test the efficency.

Old mixtapes and such can be noisy with hizzes, pops and such. It is possible to filter out those artefacts but thats removing stuff, just as digitally compressing audio is removing stuff. You can’t create data from nowhere for digitally compressed files and you can’t simply add back the hizz, noise, and pops to the mixtapes if you remove that.
There is also the problem of sites without tracking cookies having banners just to be on the safe side.
I actually thought it would look cool at least since it’s wildly different. That’s just plain genuinely ugly.
Pretty sure mercedes has some vans like that. I know of a company that build them into off road & off grid camping vans and they do rock climbing, or whetever one would call it, in them. They are still quite long and big but not like the sheer stupid toys that a modern pickup is.
I see you’re on lemmy.world. Try out a Lemmy that hasn’t blocked the tankie instances for a change, it’s wild.
That’s nothing. If 90 trucks were a HUGE part of the problem we’d have solved that in an hour. The problem is in the millions of trucks, cars, ships, airplanes, plants, etc.
Well I live in Sweden and we have snow here too buddy. Lousy public transport sucks though, but that’s what you get in a carcentric society, no options…
What? Why? I biked since I was like 5 with my parents to wherever including supermarket. Not sure what you mean honestly.
I ride from -20 to +35C in basically any weather and since jackets and shorts exist that’s all that’s needed. My friends have their own bikes they can ride…
He may be referring to this:
The concerns include the abuse of remote validation of software (where the manufacturer—and not the user who owns the computer system—decides what software is allowed to run) and possible ways to follow actions taken by the user being recorded in a database, in a manner that is completely undetectable to the user.
Sure. I’ve run several modern … repurposed… games and it usually works through lutris.
So you’re saying that the os itself is compromised? Gee, good luck protecting your processes from the fucking os, no matter how you do it.
