Strange that these articles don’t mention that almost no hostages are released “as-is” - for each Israeli hostage, 3 convicted prisoners (women and under 19y.o. “children”) had to be released by Israel.
Their crimes include shooting and stabbing attacks, car rammings, and at least one case of explosive-car-rigging…
The only exception are 12-16 Thai and Philippinian foreign nationals, which were actually released after being held hostage illegally for almost 50 days.

I understand that sometimes the military use potent drugs to enhance fighters performance - could be that written simple commands served as grounding script for someone who’s on a deadly mission? “I’m extremely high, energy is busting, hard to concentrate… what am I doing here at all? Who would such prisoner exchange comprise of? on one hand, regular citizens mostly women and children, while on the other, able-bodied young men which were taken into custody while or after committing hate crimes…
But they still struggle. What’s worse is that some employees are convinced too. Yesterday had a talk with friend from financial sector - she’s convinced that during the pandemic shutdowns their organization performance was significantly lower. I tend to attribute it to their management style - old school corporate, with lots of meetings, and overall age - most employees above 50 according to her.
Why not treat everyone equally, and avoid cementing differentiation of people based on their descent?
