I take your point, except that it’s the PPS, and not the OPS that have jurisdiction on the hill. According to the article, the RCMP apparently want them to be limited to checking bags for visitors.
It’s a weird take, and a bit of a territory grab.
Ontario, Canada.
Love being outdoors, motorcycling, jogging, or just walking.

The MAGAs are winning, even here.
Good!
If only we could go after the individuals responsible for making the decisions too…
Oh great, just what we need in Canada: Republican culture wars
Abnormal weather… If only there were a term for this.
I would love that. I have low expectations though 🤣
It’s easy enough to say that (and I agree we have a car problem), but it’s not really realistic to shift from a car dependent to a non-car world overnight, no matter how much it is the right thing to do.
There will, necessarily, be a transition period.
And still, from the looks of things, the Conservatives are poised to form the next government, because “f*ck Trudeau”.
We’re in for a rough ride
Fair enough, but that’s not going to be unique to EVs, is it?
Lol. Well said.
Queue all the deniers rushing in here to point out every little issue with EVs…
Democracy isn’t looking so healthy in North America these days. Good luck AB.
I also setup a tripod, then don’t use it 🤣
Unless they consider hydrogen as EVs which they are…
They do. It’s EVs, low-emission, and no-emission vehicles.
Can’t we wait for a better alternative?
Given the climate crisis, probably an irresponsible choice.
Haven’t heard that one yet. I’ll have to keep an ear out.
And yet we keep electing Conservative premiers, who are doing their damnedest to gut pubic health…
Danielle Smith - rushing Alberta past “Texas North”, and right into “Florida North” territory.
With people still electing leaders like this, we’re not going to survive this climate crisis, are we?
Thanks for sharing. I have to say that the article has a heavy slant towards why we should be concerned with this policy (and we should, there are some very valid questions raised), without addressing the elephant in the room, of Chinese government interference in Canada.
It doesn’t help that the authors get some very easy details wrong, like:
That should be Public Safety, and ISED.
