  • except ukraine was the one maintaining russian missiles and we know very well how poor russian military maintenance culture is and how low the morale is to do anything if failure to do so does not result in beatings/rape. Pair that with how damn remote everything is and how even in 90s there were silos where not the high maintenance missile was in disrepair but the silo basic systems were, then the more accurate analogy would be "russian roulette with 25 round capacity cylinder, 10 rounds in and 90% are duds.

  • I do not as I do not have any sensitive data and what data is sensitive are the digital documents which are securely encrypted by default via id card and its passwords.

If I start having something worth protecting I will turn on fedoras encryption. But until then anyone who manages to steal my 100 eur thinkpad and guess its password is welcome to try out linux and see if they like it I guess.

  • I’m quite glad. Its become a solid game that manages to not feel like a hollow collectathon despite ubisofts best efforts to make people like it. The music is banger, the visuals are haunting, gameplay can get tailored to your own perticular liking of batshit crazy thanks to build and perk system that is the best by far since payday 2 and it is the one game where I walk as much as possible. If only metro system was better and didn’t take away control from player and rebinding controls wasn’t hitmans experience turned up to 11.

  • I had issues with drivers, like I would have to find them somewhere on the internet, trust a random stranger to download and install them. And even then some things required me to launch drivers manually every single time I wanted to use my hardware.

I had issues with games, constant crashes or some games flat out not working. Some even crashing the entire system occationally.

I had issues where my pc would randomly turn on. Going to sleep was funky and would break the system requiring restart. I had to find drivers for my audio systems to get them running.

I had to run around confusing settings and tweak them through different control panels made by random people that largely overlapped to fix basic issues.

Thankfully those issues were solved the moment I installed linux.
