Justine Sacco; the woman who tweeted "Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!"and then lost her job etc., almost got her whole life destroyed (she fine today).
Justine wasn’t rank-and-file at her job, she was the senior director of corporate communications. She was rightfully removed from her position for demonstrating, very publicly, that she didn’t have the discretion required to be in charge of communications for a 5 billion dollar company. She not the victim that almost got her life destroyed; she received consequences for her poor decision in making a racist tweet.
